They are also real expensive, has anybody here got any recommendations for cheap smaller bodied guitars that would sound good in an old-time context? The G major chord is played by having your first finger goes on the B note of the A string and the 2nd finger on the G of the E string. Both the D and G strings are open. This is the easiest of the basic chords and a great place for beginners to start! The Dmajor Chord. Your first finger goes on the A note of the G string, 2nd finger on the F#.
